When he was growing up he always felt that he was different. He really never quite fit into the circle of friends that the neighbor hood boys formed. Playing rough, rolling around in the dirt, and climbing tree houses were not amongst the favorite things to do on his list.
Instead he liked to secretly play with his younger sisters dolls and tip toe to his mothers room and try on all her shiny sparkly jewelry. He knew that his behavior was not normal, but it was normal to him.
All throughout life he had to hide who he really was. His teen years were the hardest. He struggled with his feelings and emotions but he could never deny the truth inside.
When he got to college, he finally meant a new circle of friends. Friends that understood who Walter really was. They told him never to be ashamed of his real self. Walter finally admitted to his family that he was gay. His family knew all along. His mother embraced him for she wished she could endure all the worlds cruelties that she knew he would encounter.
Walter felt as if a huge weight had been lifted off of him. He was grateful for his friends that he knew he was destined to meet in college. If he would have never sat by Jeremy in Design 101, he would still be unhappy and trying to hide who he really was.

A waste of time!
She sits in her Astronomy class acting as if she is paying attention. The professor asks the class to take out a piece of paper and write the answer to the daily quiz. Her eyes are wondering around, looking out of the corners in hopes to catch a glimpse of the correct answer on one of her classmates papers.
She sits and doodles the whole 75 minutes. She twirls her hair with her pencil as she stares out into outer space. She constantly looks at the clock in hopes that the second hand has moved more than 5 minutes since the last time she looked at it. She bites at her fingernails and then checks her cell phone to see if she had missed any calls.
She then starts texting her friends or whoever just to pass the time away. She gets up and walks out of class to use the restroom. In the hallway she returns the phone calls that she missed. She managed to kill 7 minutes in that time.
She returns to class and again stares into outer space. What is going on in that blank head of hers? Is she made at her parents for making her go to college? Shes than blurts out loud...What a waste of time!

Has 9/11 Been Forgotten?
All across the country, the American flag was flown at half staff today in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the events of 9/11.
Seven years have gone by. Years have past since the invasion of Iraq. Saddam Hussein is supposedly dead, and one man still remains on the top of the Americas Most Wanted list.
Countless service men and women have lost their lives in effort to stop the war on terrorism.
Women and men were left widows, children left without a parent or parents. Firemen lost their lives while performing a job of courage, to save lives even if it meant that they lost theirs.
A day that challenged America but she proved she could not be defeated.
9/11 is a day that will live in the hearts of today's generation. A day that signifies patriotism, a day that represents unity of the American people.
Since this day will remain with today's generation, why was it not once mentioned today in any of Jenny's classes? To her recollection, Washburn did not have any memorial ceremonies to honor this day.
So I ask, has 9/11 already been forgotten? It can be assured that those directly affected by this day will never forget 9/11/01.

The Journey to Graduation
She looks in the mirror to position her tassel on the correct side of her graduation hat. Shes so glad that this day has finally come as she is an hour away from hearing her name being called out in the auditorium as she walks across the stage.
Her parents are awaiting in the crowd with pride and joy on their faces.
A long journey is about to come to an end. All the countless hours of writing papers and late night cramming sessions for finals that seemed would never end.
The journey is about to end, why was she not as happy as she should be? Does that mean that she would have to get a job? Where would she get a job? Work? Real world. It all seemed to becoming a reality.
Four years have come and gone. Now its time for the next chapter of life. It will never be the same again. No more parents to pay the way through life. Support oneself? How might one do that?
All these thoughts were giving her a headache. She figured she would put all these thoughts aside for the time being, and for now enjoy her moment. As she looked up she heard her name...Sybella Victoria Morere.
She composed herself and took her well deserved walk to life.
